Chapter Sixteen

I texted Gina to say I was safe and sound at the motel. She asked me for more details, but I had no idea what to even say to her. I put my phone down and thought over what had transpired with Kyan. I have had boyfriends before and lovers but nothing has ever felt like this. I barely knew the guy but I know I would trust him with my life and I felt complete when I was with him. He also talked about his pack, so how many Lycans were there and were they responsible for the missing people all those years ago. I don’t feel scared of Kyan but that doesn’t mean other people shouldn’t be. Do they hurt people? I thought to myself. I eventually drifted off and fell into a deep sleep.

I woke up in the morning, showered, then texted Gina to tell her I would meet her at the coffee shop. She texted back and said she would pick me up because there was a storm coming in and she didn’t want me walking in it. I jumped in her car and was greeted with a high pitched excited, "Hello, how did you sleep last night?" She was looking at me with her wide almond eyes waiting for me to answer.

"Oh jesus christ - Gina! I didn’t sleep with him. We talked and then he brought me back here." Great now I could feel my face going bright red and hot again. Gina started cracking up.

"Damn my friend, you go red just talking about another guy, imagine what you will be like when you have actually have sex with him," she was looking ahead at the road in fits of laughter.

"Who said I am going to have sex with him?" I said through gritted teeth. I felt as if I was going to explode. Talking about myself and anything on a private level was so out of bounds for me. I’m comfortable with telling Gina about my family life but intimate details like this? I just couldn't do it. I have never been able to.

"Sorry I am just teasing" Gina said sounding upset.

"No please Gina I’m not angry, I’m just not good at talking about my private life. I already tell you more then what I have ever told anyone," Gina seemed to cheer up a little.

"I’ll take that as a win then. And don’t take any offense to this but when you do have sex with him, I need some sort of details off you. It’s like law," I couldn’t help but laugh.

"Ok if you say so Gina," I replied while looking out the passenger window to avoid anymore conversation about Kyan. We got to the coffee shop and Gina took me through the ins and outs of the day to day running of the coffee shop. She showed me how to open the shop up since I’ll be doing morning shifts, the basics of her coffee machine and cash till, but it was fairly straight forward for me as I have been a server in previous jobs.
